Ingredients
- 4 medium bell peppers (any color)
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 clove garlic, sliced
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Wash the bell peppers thoroughly under running water.
- Place the peppers on a cutting board and use a knife to carefully slice off the tops. Remove the seeds and cut the peppers into thin strips.
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 cup of water, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 2 teaspoons of salt. Stir well.
- Add 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns, 1 sliced garlic clove, and 1 bay leaf to the saucepan.
- Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring occasionally, ensuring the sugar and salt dissolve completely.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Carefully add the sliced peppers to the saucepan, making sure they are fully submerged in the liquid.
- Simmer the peppers in the vinegar mixture for 5 more minutes to allow them to soften slightly.
- Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the peppers and the liquid into a large jar or container. Seal tightly and refrigerate.
