Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked green beans (2 cans, 14.5 oz each, drained and rinsed)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions (divided)
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp garlic powder for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Whisk until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Add drained green beans to the sauce. Stir gently until beans are fully coated. Fold in 2/3 cup fried onions.
  4. Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Cover dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and sprinkle remaining 2/3 cup fried onions evenly over the top.
  7. Return to oven (uncovered) and bake 5-7 minutes until onions are golden and crispy.
  8. Let casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving. This helps the sauce thicken slightly.
