Ingredients
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant. Keep stirring to ensure it does not burn.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sausage. Break up the sausage with a wooden spoon and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
