Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 Italian sausages
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Use a skillet that can comfortably fit all the ingredients to make cooking easier.
  2. Add the sausages to the skillet. Cook for about 7-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. If you want them to cook faster, slicing them beforehand can help.
  3. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set them aside on a plate. Be cautious of the hot oil when removing the sausages.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced red, green, and yellow bell peppers along with the sliced onion. Stir these occasionally to ensure they cook evenly.
  5. Cook the vegetables for about 8-10 minutes until they begin to soften. If you prefer softer vegetables, you can cook them longer.
  6. Add the minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to the skillet. Stir everything together for about 1 minute, just until the garlic is fragrant.
  7. Return the sausages to the skillet with 1/4 cup chicken broth or water. This adds flavor and helps deglaze the pan.
  8. Cover the skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. This will ensure the sausages are cooked through.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving. Adjust the seasoning based on personal preference.
