Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 Italian sausages
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Use a skillet that can comfortably fit all the ingredients to make cooking easier.
- Add the sausages to the skillet. Cook for about 7-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. If you want them to cook faster, slicing them beforehand can help.
- Remove the sausages from the skillet and set them aside on a plate. Be cautious of the hot oil when removing the sausages.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced red, green, and yellow bell peppers along with the sliced onion. Stir these occasionally to ensure they cook evenly.
- Cook the vegetables for about 8-10 minutes until they begin to soften. If you prefer softer vegetables, you can cook them longer.
- Add the minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to the skillet. Stir everything together for about 1 minute, just until the garlic is fragrant.
- Return the sausages to the skillet with 1/4 cup chicken broth or water. This adds flavor and helps deglaze the pan.
- Cover the skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. This will ensure the sausages are cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving. Adjust the seasoning based on personal preference.
