Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound pork sausages
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 small head of cabbage, core removed and shredded
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork sausages. Cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides.
- Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside on a plate. Reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onion to the same skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
- Add the minced garlic to the onions and sauté for another 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and stir to combine with the onion and garlic. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to wilt.
- Pour in the chicken broth and apple cider vinegar. Sprinkle in the caraway seeds, and add salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together.
- Return the sausages to the skillet, nestling them into the cabbage mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 20 minutes, until the sausages are cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
- Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook for an additional 5 minutes to reduce the liquid in the skillet slightly.
- Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your Pork Sausages with Cabbage hot!
