Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Place the flour on a plate. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts to the pan.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Make sure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour the chicken broth and lemon juice into the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes to slightly reduce the sauce.
- Turn off the heat and whisk in the butter until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
