Ingredients
- 1 pound prawns, deveined and cleaned
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Add the cleaned prawns to the marinade. Stir well to coat all the prawns evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Tip: Marinating for too long can overcook the prawns, so stick to 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F. If using a grill pan, make sure it’s hot before cooking.
- Thread prawns onto skewers. Tip: Soak wooden skewers in water for about 10 minutes to prevent burning.
- Place skewered prawns on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until prawns turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook to prevent them from becoming tough.
- Remove the prawns from the grill and serve hot with your choice of sides, like grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
