Ingredients

  • 2 hake fillets (approximately 5 ounces each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, half sliced and half juiced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high, approximately 375°F.
  2. Rinse the hake fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. This helps the seasoning stick to the fish.
  3. Brush the hake fillets lightly with olive oil on both sides to prevent them from sticking to the grill.
  4. Season the hake with salt and black pepper on both sides. Feel free to adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Place the hake fillets on the grill. Close the grill lid and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F.
  6. While the fish is grilling, mix the lemon juice, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl. This will be your finishing sauce.
  7. Once the hake is cooked, remove it from the grill and place it on a serving platter. Drizzle the lemon and garlic sauce over the top.
  8. Garnish with the lemon slices and a bit more parsley if desired, then serve immediately.
