Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F. If using a charcoal grill, prepare it until the coals are glowing brightly.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, lemon juice, and thyme to make the marinade.
- Place the chicken breasts on a flat surface and cover them with a piece of plastic wrap. Gently pound them with a meat mallet to an even thickness. This ensures even cooking.
- Place the chicken in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Turn the chicken breasts to ensure they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes while the grill heats up.
- Once the grill is hot, use tongs to place the chicken breasts on the grill grates. Cook them for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they have grill marks and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Tip: Avoid flipping the chicken too often to get the perfect grill marks and to help keep the juices in.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Resting allows the juices to redistribute, making the chicken more tender and flavorful.
