Ingredients
- 8 thin slices of beef (approx. 4-6 oz each)
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lay the beef slices on a flat surface. If the slices are too thick, use a meat mallet to gently pound them to about 1/4 inch thickness. This will ensure they cook evenly.
- Season each slice of beef with a bit of salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides to taste. Make sure the seasoning is distributed evenly.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each beef slice.
- Roll the beef tightly around the cheese, starting from one end and rolling to the other to form a roll. Secure them with toothpicks to hold their shape during cooking.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the beef rolls on all sides until they are browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. This step will lock in the juices and give them a nice crust.
- Once seared, transfer the beef rolls to a baking dish and drizzle with Worcestershire sauce.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the cheese is melted.
- Carefully remove the toothpicks. Transfer the rolls to a serving plate and garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme if desired.
- Serve the beef rolls warm and enjoy your delicious creation!
