Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This will help the wings cook evenly and become crispy.
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to form a spicy marinade.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the marinade. You can also use a resealable plastic bag to marinate the chicken for better coverage. Massage the seasonings into the wings for better flavor.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Make sure they are not touching so they cook evenly.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake the wings for 20 minutes, then flip them over to ensure even cooking and bake for another 20 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce by combining melted butter and hot sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until well combined. The butter helps to mellow out the sauce’s heat while adding rich flavor.
- Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them in a large mixing bowl. Pour the prepared sauce over the hot wings and gently toss to coat them evenly.
- Transfer the wings to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Spicy Chicken Wings!
- Tip: For extra flavor, you can marinate the wings overnight in the refrigerator. Just cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or seal the bag. This step is optional but can give the wings a deeper flavor.
