Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 4 ounces assorted cured meats (such as prosciutto, salami, or chorizo)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices. You should have about 12-16 slices.
- Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil on both sides.
- Bake the baguette slices in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Turn them halfway through baking for even browning.
- While the baguette slices are baking, cut the cured meats into smaller pieces, if necessary, so they fit nicely on the slices.
- Spread a small amount of softened cream cheese on each toasted baguette slice. Ensure it covers the entire top for a creamy base.
- Top each cream cheese-spread slice with a piece of cured meat.
- Season lightly with freshly ground black pepper.
- Garnish each crostini with a sprinkle of fresh basil.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
